SEO Anchor Text

 

Link anchor text is the text displayed in the clickable part of a web link (hyperlink). The anchor text used when adding a link to another website or internal link plays a significant part in the Google ranking of the recipient web page against the phrases and keywords used in the anchor text.

Google has continued the trend to understand and apply more value to links and text that is 'lexically' related.   It is important to remember that applying a link to text like “click here” or any terms that aren’t related to the page will reduce the advantage that back links and internal links give to your site.

Google Page Rank for any page is affected by internal links and external back links.  If you want to maximise the Google Page Rank you achieve for any page then link anchor text should be considered with as much care as the keywords in your pages.
