Google Page Rank
Google Page Rank(PR) is one of many (around 100) factors which affect the search rank which any page in your site will have in Google's search engine. Page Rank ranges from unclassified and then 1 to 10, 10 being the best PR you could attain. PR doesn't differentiate between millions of pages, it is merely 1 of the factors that differentiates. Hence PR alone will not get your page a top 10 search rank, but having it will certainly help.
Google assigns Page Rank through several means but in the main Page Rank is calculated by.
- The number of external links that a web site has going to it.
- The number of pages of unique content that a site has.
- The number of internal links to any page within your website.
It should be noted that this is a simplistic view which merely highlights how Page Rank is calculated and limited.
